Textile impregnation based on nanotechnology.
Description/Characteristics: SOLUGARD ® is a product of the nanotechnology and thus an intelligent anti-stick-coating for textiles. It coats every single fibre with an invisible UV-stable naturally breathing protective layer. Appearance, touch and colour will not by any means be affected. The fibre will be protected from water, soiling and stains in the widest possible sense. The effect of this protection is that dry dirt cannot anymore stick onto the fibre. Moist dirt will no longer be absorbed by the fibre. Water, coffee, red wine, gravy, etc. will simply pearl off the treated fibres.
Application/Substrates:
SOLUGARD ® can be applied to all synthetic and natural fibres. From the finest silk to the absorbent cotton, as for example suits, ties, carpets, raincoats, textile surfaces, coconut fibres, jute, sisal, mattresses, curtains, child’s seats, upholstery, convertible tops, blinds, lamellas, umbrella fabrics, motorcycle clothes, Alcantara and buckskin (suede) etc. Limited effect on Polypropylen.
Technical Data:
Smell: neutral Appearance: clear Dilutable: no pH-value: approx. 5
Storage: in closed original containers, frost-free and dry. Perishable: after approx. 9 months.
Dilution ratio:
SOLUGARD ® is a ready-to-use solution which must not be diluted, otherwise the protective effect cannot be guaranteed.
Application:
Always pre-test surface to be treated (especially leather products) in an inconspicuous area before proceeding.
It may also be advisable to read the cleaning instructions of the manufacturers. SOLUGARD ® has a particularly good adhesion only on detergent-free, residue-free surfaces. Therefore it is indispensable to clean the fibres/surfaces to be treated thoroughly before starting. As far as clothes are concerned, the last rinsing must be with clear water only. Textile surfaces, such as carpet floors, upholstery, umbrella fabrics, etc. must be pre-cleaned with the detergent-free carpet and upholstery cleaner SOLUTION Nr. 2. This cleaning chemistry optimally harmonises with SOLUGARD ®. Spray SOLUGARD ® with the finest possible sprayer at a distance of 15 centimetres on the pre-cleaned fibres, which may still contain moist remainders, avoiding drops and puddles. If necessary, textiles can be put back into shape with an iron. Consumption: approx. 20-30 ml/m² for fabrics, textile surfaces approx. 10 ml/m² for every mm thickness of the pile. We recommend at least two applications of SOLUGARD, to achieve maximum protection. Work on a wet basis. Complete protection after 24 hours at the earliest. If conditions are unfavourable, for example, if too much of the product is applied, low temperatures, high humidity, etc., the protection will be delayed. Therefore, load tests such as wash and cleanings, should be effected at the earliest 3-4 days after application. In case textile surfaces are severely soiled, SOLUGARD® should be applied in a separate operation, because sometimes it happens that dirt which has not been completely removed, re-appears on the surface. However, if the impregnation has already been made, the dirt will be encapsulated. If, in such a case, SOLUGARD® will be applied afterwards, it is recommended to moisten the textile surface first and then apply the impregnation on a wet basis.
Subsequent maintenance / cleaning care:
The big advantage of SOLUGARD ® is that dirt and spots can very easily be removed. For spot removal at certain points we recommend SOLUTION Nr. 3, Spot Remover, or, for larger areas, SOLUTION Nr. 2 Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner.
Durability/Disposal/ Precautions:
SOLUGARD ® can almost only be removed by using machine agitation. In praxis tests, provided the product was applied correctly on detergent-free surfaces, the protective coating was still existent even after more than 30 cleanings. SOLUGARD ® is neutral to the skin, solvent-free , water-based and no dangerous product. The relative Health and Safety Information, safety and risk phrases are indicated on the package and in our EC Safety Data Sheet. Keep out of the reach of children.
